Wednesday night was the opener at Fairmont Raceway. Track management is calling it a win!. We had many new faces in the pits, more cars than opening night last year, and a great racing surface. Roger Nielsen gave thanks to track staff after the feature and stated the track hasn't been that fast and fun in many years. Derek Green had a similar statement. Derek stated the track was wide and fast.
Rodney Sanders was traveling through for an upcoming USMTS stint in the region and swung through to shake down the car. Rodney was able to pull off the win in the his Modified. Another new face was Dustin Gulbrandson. He powered his USRA hobby stock into Victory lane. Crowd favorites Jared Boumeester (B-mod) and Derek Green both found victory lane effortlessly. Nate Coopman made his return to Fairmont and didn't seem to miss a beat in his USRA Tuner.
Track officials do also want to thank the other 41 cars that didn't make it into victory lane. With out each one of you the program wouldn't Survive.
Fairmont raceway will be back in action Wednesday night May 25th and hopes to see all of you back out to the track. Back gate opens at 5:30 pm, front gate at 6pm. General admission is $12.00 for adults.
